My students need one snack per day, like animal crackers, gold fish and pretzels, to keep them going to reduce meltdowns due to hunger.

My Students

Providing snacks to my students is breaking the bank! Most of my students have autism and have a difficult time getting through the day without having to deal with hunger on top of it. I try to make sure they get a snack to hold them over until lunch. It also is good sensory input for them.

My students spend most of the day in the regular education classroom.

They see me to work on their goals, social skills training and sensory. My students have a hard time waiting until lunch to eat. They often need a snack to hold them over. I usually use snack time as a motivator to do work. After they have completed the work that I have given them, they receive a snack. A small snack helps them stay focused on their work instead of focused on their rumbling bellies and also provides sensory input.

My Project

I'm requesting snacks for my students to help them stay focused until lunch. They will also take turns being the server, therefore learning pre-vocational skills. Providing a snack to my students will help them with oral sensory input and help increase productivity.

It costs quite a bit to feed thirteen students a snack each day.

I'm hoping that with your help, I will be able to continue providing a snack to my students. I've noticed that since I've started giving snacks before lunch that we've had less meltdowns and more work is getting completed. Thank you for your donation!
