My students attend a high poverty elementary school in the Midwest. Most of my students have autism. They spend most of their day in the regular education setting and visit me in the resource room to get extra instruction in the areas in which they need it. Some of my students exhibit challenging behaviors although they have come a long way. They greatly benefit from social skills class in which we practice conversations, sharing, taking turns and relaxation skills.
