Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My fourth-grade students will be learning about what they can do to make more healthy food choices. They will be learning how to read food labels and determine what foods are healthy and which are unhealthy. They will take everything they learn throughout the various disciplines such as, literacy, math, science, and technology and will then create their own cookbooks with healthy recipes that they can share with their community. They will use the blank books to publish the recipes and share them with the school library. They will even create their own smoothies by looking at various food labels to make it as healthy as possible. We are requesting the aprons so students can wear them while they create and present there smoothies they make with the blenders and measuring tools. We will also use the mini cups so classes can have samples during the contest. They will then enter their smoothies into a school competition! Please help our 4th graders focus on their nutrition and have a food for thought!
