My Project

A large majority of our students live in poverty. Several families in our community are struggling to survive and do not know where their next meal will come from. The meals provided for the children at school might be the only meals some students receive daily. Most students on our campus are often hungry upon arrival and will be hungry again before they leave school.

As we all know, it is extremely difficult to focus on anything when you are hungry.

Therefore, I am requesting a variety of snack items the students can munch on while working. These healthy snack options will carry them through the school day. These bright and eager to learn children deserve to have a comfortable learning environment where they do not have to concern themselves with outside factors, especially being hungry. We will need a microwave to warm our snacks, breakfast items, and cold weather beverages. Similarly, I am requesting deodorant and hand sanitizer for my students whose families cannot provide these necessities that impact self image and health. These items help with self esteem building for my students.
