Many of my students sometimes get to school too late to eat breakfast, or the breakfast provided may not be enough to help them function well until lunch time. Some may not have had dinner the previous evening, and as a result, are extremely hungry when they get to school.
I want to provide a space where my students can come to get that little extra nourishment they may need to help them make it until lunch or dismissal.
We all know that learning and/or focusing while hungry is very difficult, even more so for children.
I would like to ensure that my students have the tools necessary to succeed in the classroom and/or to just be happy enough to participate well in all the activities throughout the day without having to think about being hungry...
