This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Donors, the SPED team at East Palo Alto Charter Schools would like help in purchasing snacks for our students.

Did you know that being hungry causes serotonin levels to drop, producing a whirlwind of uncontrollable emotions such as anxiety, stress, anger, and sadness ?

Every day, there are a number of students who enter our learning center looking to learn. With 7 service providers in one portable and over 80 students and growing receiving services, we get a lot of foot traffic! Many of our students come to school hungry; many get hungry though out the day; and many rely on school to feed them, as they may suffer food insecurities at home. Whatever the case is, our students are asking for snacks daily.

Food should not only be treated as an incentive, but rather a NEED as well. Our students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, minority populations, and have special needs. We are asking for your support in providing our students with the resources to fuel their bodies, so that they are ready to learn and successful in the classroom. This donation can support us finish our academic year strong!
