This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the privilege of working with students who have emotional and behavioral disorders in a self-contained setting. All my students range in abilities and disabilities making it very challenging to teach using typical teaching methods. Our school is a Title I school, and all of our students are on free or reduced-price lunch due to the low family income.

My students, ranging from kindergarten to third grade, are a group of vivacious, talented and loving individuals.

They are captivated by the unknown and learn best through their senses. Almost all of my students are being raised in single-parent homes which, for many reasons, can cause stress on a child. I seek to make my class a safe haven in which my students can thrive.

My Project

Working at a Title I school we encounter many students who do not have access to basic necessities Therefore, I am requesting these food items to help eliminate the barrier that stifles our student’s ability to focus.

These nutritious snacks will help fuel the young minds of students and give them the energy needed to power through the day.

Items will be given throughout the day as a motivator, teaching tool and basic necessities. A donation to this project will greatly impact our students and help meet their needs, allowing learning to take place.
