This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative individuals who are learning that hard work and commitment are crucial for accomplishing their goals. It is wonderful to be a part of their educational life story and to be present when the "aha" moments strike!

Guitar players, rappers, magicians, authors, lawyers, and teachers are just a few of the professions my students aspire to in the future.

First, they will need the tools necessary to finish high school. I am grateful for DonorsChoose.org and the people like you who want to contribute and make a difference for our students.

My Project

If you are already on this site, I know it is because you want to make a difference. Sometimes our students come to school without even the most basic needs met. One way you can help is by helping to contribute so our students can have access to snacks when they are hungry.

Studies have also shown that when food is available in the classroom, students succeed in bigger ways.

With your donations, we will be able to provide snacks to hungry students to help them succeed academically and meet their basic need of food.

We all know that being hungry is uncomfortable, to say the least. Some of our students are homeless or having to bounce between residences. You should see the way their eyes light up when they realize their teachers care enough to give them a snack when they're hungry. Even something as simple as a granola bar can make the difference for that student's learning experience and what they think about life. Knowing that someone cares can do wonders for any of us, and, in particular, for our students who need some kindness.
