My Project

I am requesting snacks for my classroom to help students with mental health and focus throughout the school day. My goal for this project is to have a variety of individual snacks available to students. Students would be able to access the "snack pantry" as needed for an energy boost or quick connection with me as their teacher. Students would benefit from having snacks available to them as they are teenagers with fluctuating moods and levels of energy and concentration.

As a special education teacher, snacks will help during ice breakers and with community building and provide opportunities for more casual, personal conversations that strengthen the teacher-student relationship.

Overall, providing snacks to students will be a simple and effective tool for enhancing communication and building rapport which leads to greater educational outcomes and better student mental health.
