This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a classroom full of wonderful and amazing children. Our class consists of multi-level learners. They are a diverse group of kids ranging from English Language Learners to Special Education children. Our school is a Title I school and the majority of my students come from low-income families, foster homes, and at times some are homeless. Most students live in high-poverty neighborhoods with single parent homes.

When given the opportunity, these kids excel at different tasks throughout the school day.

They come each day to succeed despite their challenges at home. I always instill positive attitudes throughout the day and encourage the children to be thoughtful towards each other despite their backgrounds.

My Project

These materials will make a difference to these children because they will be getting nourishment their bodies need along with knowing people in the world care for them.

Many of these children do not have the luxury of bringing snacks or water to school so they may concentrate on their academics and not their hunger.

These materials will be a big blessing to all of the children in the classroom. A fridge will allow them to have cold drinks and healthy snacks to take home. A microwave will allow them to heat soups or other quick meals for lunch. Snacks and plenty of water will provide them the nutritional boost they need to get them through the day!
