Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My amazing students are in first grade and are in a dual language class. My students attend school in the Inland Empire. They attend a Title I funded school and all receive free or reduced-price lunches. They are very driven and love hands-on activities.

Most of my students are first-generation students and are very driven to be the first in their families to attend a university or college.

They hope to use education to strive for a better life in this country.

My Project

This school year has been one full of uncertainty for many of my students in more ways than one. We are thrilled to be back in the classroom learning and focused!

However, many students are facing food uncertainty and need support to make sure that they can have food certainty to help them concentrate on learning.

We are hoping to have some small snacks and food items to send home with the students so that they may have access to foods at home as some of their families tread the hardships that COVID 19.
