My Students

I have an amazing group of 1st graders! In 1st grade, we have a wide variety of ability levels. Some of my students are still working on the basics, while other are working above grade level. Hands-on activities allow each student to show their strengths and achieve success.

The one thing all my students agree on is that we all LOVE our hands-on activities!

My students love to work together to solve problems and show off their strengths to their peers. My students are a fun-loving and energetic group that learns best while engaging in hands-on activities.

My Project

I have students ready to immerse themselves in reading, but I also have students needing to learn basic skills. The resources I chose will help me provide them with resources that will help them at every learning ability (Phonics, Reading, social/emotional, and STEM) activities in a fun way. They will be able to work together socially and solve problems using the hand on materials I have chosen.

Covid has put all classes at a disadvantage, but we refuse to let it make us anything but the best we can be.

Covid has hit hard everywhere and although we have done our best to provide materials to keep my first graders on target, it has been extremely difficult. They have missed basic skills that are essential to first-grade learning. I’m asking for materials that will bridge the gap and help me provide what they need to meet first-grade standards. My first graders need to learn to work independently and to collaborate with peers to meet current standards. I need materials to help my children manipulate phonemes, sequence and use phonetics, and read basic sight words.
