Folk Music Dulcimers for 6th Grade!

My Project

I am requesting dulcimers so my 6th grade students will have an opportunity to have a hands-on experience with a string instrument. These Appalachian string instruments are played laying down which allow students to look directly at their finger position and have "drone" strings that allow for quick and easy learning of the melody strings and frets. I had recently taught dulcimers to students in Salisbury school district and have all teaching materials, music, and experience to get students started. We just need the funds to purchase the instruments.

With this addition of instruments their community and families will be proud they are continuing the tradition of the folk music.
