Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My bilingual students are Spanish speakers coming from low-income homes in a high need area in the Bronx, New York. All my students are English Language Learners or children with special needs eager to learn. They love hands-on activities, technology games, as well as engaging projects that challenge them and allow them to think outside the box to find solutions.
Unfortunately, my classroom is limited in the resources needed to provide each student access to classroom materials, bilingual resources, and technology.
I look forward to creating projects that will contribute to a joyful learning environment with your contributions. Each donation will make a difference in my students' lives.

My Project
As I am looking ahead to the new school year, I know that my Kindergarten students will need heavy-duty folders to maintain and organize their work! The folders students used this year helped them keep all of their work for writing, reading, math, exit slips, work that was displayed, and other assessments organized.
Providing all of my students with sturdy folders, our students will be able to transfer important notices home throughout the school year without the chance of easy rips and tears.
The fantastic folders are different colors to indicate each grade subject. The folders are used for portfolios at the end of the year for students to select their best work samples. Students also learned that it's important to place their work neatly into the folder and take pride in the work they do. I included labels to put on the folders.
