This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My fourth graders will soon be selecting books to read independently and they need a place to store them in the classroom. Right now, they share a tub of books at their tables, but soon, each student will need a place to store their book to access them quickly. The magazine folder will also be used for students' folders and other reading materials. They will have a place for their materials and will help them stay organized, on task and engaged during independent reading time.
The take-home folders will be useful when we start doing weekly homework and sending important information home.
Families will know where to look for important documents and they will have a place to send back any notes or requested documents. By having a weekly folder for communication, families will stay informed and will be more engaged in their children's education.
