My Students
My students are energetic, fun-loving, eager second graders who look forward to coming to school every day. My students face many challenges such as disabilities, lack of supplies, and language barriers because their native language is not English, but despite these challenges, they are eager and ready to learn.
Every day, I strive to meet their various needs in any way that I can.
I try to create an engaging and peaceful work environment so their minds can soar! By making sure they have what they need to be academically successful, safe, healthy, and secure, I am helping them to be as productive as possible.
My students live in a low-income, inner-city neighborhood, and they have struggles at home. It is my job to make sure they are able to accomplish what they wish to in school. One of my goals, as a teacher, is to provide things that my children are lacking and to create a positive learning environment. My students love to experience new things and visit new places such as the many field trips that I take them on. I also try to keep their bellies full and their minds open to learning new things.
My Project
In my classroom, all of my students have their own laptops that we use daily for our Math and Literacy interventions. Unfortunately, the headphones that I currently have are old and are starting to break. I would like to replenish my supply by getting all new headphones for each one of my students and have them assigned to them. Headphones are an important resource in my classroom because it can be loud and disruptive when students are not using headphones for their interventions. These new headphones will help to keep them focused and engaged in their online lessons.
Another problem that we have is maintaining and storing our headphones.
I want to use the zip lock bags to store each headphone so that the cords do not get tangled and destroy them. I will write the students names on them so that they will be easier to find in our storage system and also be less likely to get the cords tangled with others.
