My students need to stay focus while working independently. Having the option of sitting on a wobble chair or a wobble cushion allows my students to focus on their work while getting their wiggles out.
This is my first year of teaching third grade to a wonderful and creative group of boys and girls at a Title I school. They are excited to learn and come to school each day. It is important to ensure that children enjoy learning. Throughout the learning experience of each student, it is important that they continue the motivation to grow in their learning. They will take their joy of learning into the next grade and beyond. Therefore, they need all the necessary materials that will make them successful, independent, and confident learners. With your help, this can continue.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During students independent work times they choose a spot in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room. For example, students will work at different tables or will sit or lay on the floor with a clipboard. Making sure students are comfortable helps motivate students to work hard and stay focus. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional flexible seating options to make more effective learning choices.
The 4 wobble stools and 4 wobble cushions will allow students to sit comfortably at our round table and kidney table. These seats will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get their wiggles out. The wobble stools and cushions gentle rolls with the students natural movements, so students are supported and comfortable while they get their wiggles out. They can also be used as an alternative chair if needed! They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and attitude and hope that the additional flexible seating options will help us focus more!
