Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, our school began online learning as of mid-March. Since then it has been a learning experience not just for my students but for me as well. Chromebooks were made available for students who needed one. The Chromebooks are their primary learning tool to access online websites and other resources.

Although my school provided me with several online learning resources such as digital teacher editions and websites, the need for a document camera has been great.

With a document camera, I can model for my students how to solve multi-step math problems or quickly draw a thinking map. Most of my students are primarily visual learners that need step by step modeling.

My Project

The document camera that I am requesting will be a vital learning tool that will be used by current and future students. Although we have been provided with digital texts and online resources, a document camera is a vital tool needed in order to successfully implement online learning.

Most of my students are English language learners.

The majority of my students are visual learners. A document camera will allow me to model multi-step directions and demonstrate activities in real-time. Showing my students how to solve complex math problems, editing a rough draft, or even creating graphic organizers for their essays are just some examples of the uses for a document camera. Most important, it will allow my language learners to keep up when oral directions may be difficult to understand.
