This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

4th graders have boundless enthusiasm and willingness to try new things. In my class of 16, 14 speak a language other than English at home. Students come in excited to spend the day together and go home smarter.

Our school is located in central Massachusetts, where graduation rates are too low, economic opportunities for families are too limited and families have competing priorities including parents who are working to learn English and find jobs that keep their family housed and fed.

Every student in my classroom takes great pride in their learning. We focus on incorporating a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!

My Project

If you have ever spent time with fourth graders you know that they deserve the best. These learners are exploring their dreams every single day and are eager to show their teacher, family, community, and the world what they are capable of accomplishing!

We need a table that can be used for small group instruction, conferencing, peer feedback, and social-emotional check-ins.

Fourth Graders are fueled by imagination, fantasy, possibility (and Takis!). Giving them an amazing point to their pencils and colored pencils helps them see themselves as effective, creative, and capable people.
