My Students

Dear Donors Choose,

My students are multicultural, collaborative, and thoughtful learners.

They thrive in a language rich environment where their voices are heard and everyone can learn together in a respectful and safe environment. They come from multi family households with many extended family members offering rich culture and heritage. Many of my students are multi language learners and learners with special needs who need additional social and emotional supports every day.

My students are facing diversity and difficult situations every day before they even step on the school grounds. Our population is highly impacted from trauma from the last two years and are needing social and emotional growth tools to grow their growth mindset. The students are brave as they preserver through life's challenges with a smile on their face ready to learn every day with an open mind and heart.

My students are growing both socially and academically as better people for our community. I want to give them the tools so they can be ready to face the challenges of middle school and their bright futures. They are the future leaders for Reno and our Country. My students are my heros!

My Project

My students come from traumatic trauma based lives who need tools to help them regulate and self manage their emotions. The goal for all my students is to be highly effective learners and to focus on academic and social learning. To meet this goal they need to develop and regulate their self management to focus on the academic tasks at hand. To help the students meet this goal the flexible seating will help with self management of their physical self to meet the WCSD SEL standards below.
