My Project

The "Flying Safe and Sound" project is a LAUNCH project (no pun intended) for our track and field program. It is a project focused on getting our current pole vaulting program headed in the right direction.

The current poles that our track program has are just all over the place.

Different heights, weights and brands that don't have any rhyme or reason. This makes it difficult for our athletes to transition to the next pole when the next pole we have isn't the correct one. This is a big safety issue.

Track athletes are intrigued by the pole vault event and we want to keep them intrigued. But, we also want to keep them safe and the current line up of poles that we have available to our athletes is not acceptable.

The 125 lb - 11'6 pole vault pole will fit right into our middle school/high school line up of poles that our program is trying to build upon. With a proper pole line up, we can solve the problem of athletes trying to jump on poles that are too big for them - thus, making the athlete safe in this track and field event.
