Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school will have a student council this year. Council students will be leaders, hold official meetings, run for elected positions, represent the student body when we have special visitors, lead school spirit days, and create school-wide events to promote school unity and other activities.

In order to help my students feel pride and motivation to do well in school we'd like to have special shirts.

Our school has special science teachers come out to perform many STEAM activities throughout the year. One event that the student council will hold is a kite activity event after the science program is over. Students who would like to participate will make flying contraptions, they will design and make their contraptions out of whatever materials they believe will help their item fly the furthest. To give them a sense of real competition and feel like aviators, we would like to have them also design and make a team shirt. The shirts will be decorated by each team competing to help motivate them

We need shirts in black and yellow, "our school colors". Each team will decide what color they'd like to represent and design their shirts in. This event will help them understand all about gravity and how it's needed for aviation. They will also become engineers and design their own flying devices. The shirts will give them uniformity and help them work together as a team to meet their objective.
