Help me give my students learn the principles of aerodynamics and Newton's laws of physics by building and flying model rockets and gliders.

My Students
My school community includes a large population of Hispanic immigrants and middle eastern refugees.
With over 79% of my students being economically disadvantaged and 17% with limited English proficiency, they enter my middle school science classroom facing many obstacles.
But these challenges become opportunities for developing grit and growing a passion for learning as I strive to engage them in science that addresses real-world phenomena with 21st-century solutions. They just need some 21st-century science tools to help them reach their potential.
My Project
Our students have missed a year of hands-on science labs due to Covid restriction, but that all changes now. This summer, we are bringing kids on campus to experience hands-on learning.
During a summer school aerodynamics class, students will learn about forces and motion and Newton's laws by building and flying both model rockets and rubber band-powered gliders.
I will never forget making and launching my own rocket in junior high. I want to create lasting science memories for my students. I need enough supplies so each student can make, launch and keep their own model rocket and glider.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
