Fly Around the World by Reading Cool Time for Kids!
My students need 40 subscriptions to "Time for Kids" magazine, two subscriptions to the "Current Events Weekly Reader", a world atlas, a magazine rack to keep all of our magazines organized and colored pencils for their Weekly Reader related assignments and projects.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 6th, 7th and 8th grade language arts teacher/special educator in an urban, public school in Baltimore. I have taught for over ten years and am always looking for new reading material that interests my students. I teach both high performing students and students with special needs.
My students are very easily bored and seem to have very little background knowledge in science and current events. "Time for Kids" and the "Current Events Weekly Reader" introduces them to a whole new world. Most of the reading material provided by the school system don't have the latest world news. Therefor my students are unaware of what is happening in the world.
I am always trying to feed my students the latest, most exciting information available. These high interest magazines are wonderfully illustrated and have sparked my students' interests in reading, science, and world politics. They also provide additional related lessons and activities which they can complete using colored pencils. In addition, I teach the importance of taking care of these educational supplies by having the students keep them organized on the new magazine rack.
Please help me with this necessary project. Our children are our future. They need to be aware of their world outside of Baltimore. By providing these magazines you can allow them to "fly around the world" and open their minds to new ideas! By reading the magazines/atlases and completing activities they will be much more aware of events happening all over the world!

TIME For Kids Magazine- World Report Edition w/ TFK Around the World (grades 4-6). Pricing is valid for orders placed after March 2008. After August 15th of current school year, pricing will remain in effect but TIME For Kids reserves the right to prorate issue quantity and free gifts. Only valid for orders in quantities of 10 or more. Orders for less than 10 subscriptions will NOT be fulfilled.
