My Students

My class is made up of the most loving 4 and 5-year-olds. They come to school every day excited and ready to learn. They are very active and love to play. Each one is unique and brings their own strengths to our classroom family.

Many of my students come from low-income households.

Some of them come to school hungry or do not have a permanent place to live. Some students can't afford a backpack, let alone resources for learning at home. Despite their many challenges, my students always come to school with smiles on their faces and are eager to learn new things!

My Project

Math fluency is exceptionally important at all grade levels, and the foundation begins in kindergarten. With strong fluency skills, students can also grow in their other math skills.

Math fluency is key to becoming a mathematician!

It helps students to build mathematical language and number sense. They learn to strategize and see relationships between numbers. This is critical to developing greater math skills in future grades.

This fluency kit would provide materials to practice math fluency skills with my students on a daily basis. It includes a variety of materials to practice fluency in many different ways, which keeps students engaged.
