My Students
My students are amazing! Each new year and throughout, they inspire me and continue to help me realize why I joined the teaching profession!
With the added trials and obstacles posed by COVID-19, something that will continue to affect the world as a whole for a long while, my primary focus is, and always will be, to provide my students with a warm and welcoming classroom environment.
To look at my students and the ways in which they continue to show up every day in the face of extremely huge mental and emotional obstacles is inspiring, to say the least.
My Project
Nearpod and Flocabulary are learning platforms that also have wonderful activities available to support students' social, emotional, and mental health/well-being.
It is critical that I am able to promote and support my students' health and well-being with Nearpod and Flocabulary activities that center on social-emotional learning where they are provided the time to reflect upon themselves and their circumstances as well as life, in general.
Nearpod and Flocabulary are an integral part of our academic learning and with continued subscriptions to both platforms, I can also continue to focus on helping my students as a whole regarding their social, emotional, and mental health/well-being. Both platforms have specific categories related to social-emotional learning (SEL) that are offered in bite-sized chunks that allow me to regularly integrate them within our classroom time. I especially love the activities because they generate extremely rich discussions and allow my students to voice their concerns, fears, insecurities, and confusions about things in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. I feel that this is especially critical as we find ourselves in another year of COVID-affected schooling. Thank you for your support!
