Flowers and Bees

My students need flower pots, soil, seeds, paints and books about bees to learn more about how bees help flowers!

My Students

As a teacher in a Title I school with students who come from low-income or high poverty homes, my students are faced with challenges in and outside of the classroom. All of the students in my class receive free breakfast and lunch at school. Sometimes these meals are all that they may get for the day. Some of the students in my classroom live in shelters, motels, or are living with family members or friends.

There are 10 students in my classroom with moderate to severe disabilities who come to school every day with the biggest and brightest smiles on their faces.

My classroom is specially structured to meet their needs. We strive to provide a full educational experience for all students, incorporating social skills, community skills, and functional skills into our daily routines.

My Project

My students have been super excited to learn about science. Every day when we get ready for our lesson, my students are all eager to see what is planned.

Making science hands-on for my students has made them even more interested and engaged in our science lessons.

We are getting ready to start our next lesson on flowers and how bees help flowers grow. My students need materials to plant flowers and to decorate the planting pots to give them their own unique touch. My students also need books about bees to help them learn why bees are so important for flowers.
