This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I expect so much from my young learners. I expect them to plow through hurdles. I expect them to not be defined by their disability. I expect them to challenge people’s idea of their ability. I expect them to advocate for their needs. Most of all I expect them to succeed. My students are so much more than their exceptionalities. They are exceptional! Having such high expectations of my student requires a quite safe working space for them to complete work, with plenty of free space leftover to explore and learn.
So much of meaningful learning comes from the ability to move around freely and explore hands on learning experience.
This cooperative flower desk will allow us the needed area to complete our seat work. It will also leave plenty of room in our class to create learning centers and calming corners that will help my young learners thrive and be their best selves.
