John Muir once said “In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.” This quote describes the impact this project will have on our environment and the students at our school.
The 500 students who will be participating in this project will use the paint markers, buckets and seeds in order to celebrate earth day while also helping our environment.
At our school, we have an outdoor gardening section that is not being utilized. We would like to plant wild flowers in this area in order to help support the population of bees as they are rapidly dying out.
My Project
Honey bees are a crucial element in our environment and they are becoming extinct! This is important to us as humans because they pollinate 70% of the foods we eat. The purpose of this project is to show students how with just a little effort, we can help our environment grow, which will in turn, benefit us as a civilization.
Students will be able to step out of the classroom, and into the community to help with not only the beautification of the school grounds, but with providing the bees with a place to feed.
This project will give students a hands-on opportunity to see how they can make a difference in our environment and community. We will be distributing the water as the students plant in order to stay hydrated.
