Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students with disabilities are kind, curious, and fun-loving students who love school and learning. Many of our students struggle with mobility challenges and require more support and structure doing floor work to stay with peers during morning meetings. This means that without supportive seating options, students are left sitting out of the group in chairs. If they do attempt to sit with their peers they are unable to stay seated and upright and engage in socially inappropriate behaviors such as laying down or wandering the room.

These chairs would help students access these meetings and provide them with much-needed comfort and support while still being part of the class.
