Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a low-income, high-mobility school that is Title I. This means all of our children receive free breakfast and lunch during the school day. We have a diverse population and serve children and families from many different cultures.

The students at our school are sweet and crave positive interactions and for someone to show a genuine interest in them.

They are eager to learn new things and love to share what they have learned with others. These students need positive role models in their lives to introduce them to the wonders of the world around them.

My Project

As I try to keep a balance with social distancing and flexible seating, I find that I need more materials for my students to use during the day.

Keeping my students safe is my number one concern.

The floor trays with edges on them will help keep any mess that is made contained within the tray. This will help keep milk spills off of the carpet and keep our classroom from smelling like spoiled milk. My students need bathroom mats with rubber backing to use to choose their personal space to sit, eat, and learn on the floor. The rubber backed rugs will help with the mats moving and will also keep any spills not contained by the floor tray from seeping into the carpet.
