This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
An eager group to incorporate technology into our math classroom, my students come from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Our school is 100% free lunch.
Every student should experience the advantages of a flipped class.
My students' desire to become more digitally fluent has increased so now it is time to move my students to the next phase...I am flipping my classroom! Students must now have technological access to educational sites, be able to conduct research and collaborate with others in and outside of the classroom. Their desire and the increased need of equipment makes this project necessary.
My Project
A flipped classroom allows students to view videos and activities at their own pace at home. Parents will no longer stress over homework assistance. More time in class to go deeper into the concepts taught is the goal. Research has shown that students are more engaged watching videos making them more comfortable completing questions and encouraging learning. A flipped classroom and activities gives immediate feedback. In the classroom the tablets are needed for intervention.
The goal is to set up a checkout system for students without access to smartphones, laptops, tablets, internet, or the transportation to get to the public library or community center to use computers after school.
Tablets will increase the ratio of devices to students in our classroom and allow students access before, during and after instruction. Technology for all students.
