Flip, March, Play! Helping Davis Band for Parades and Beyond

Help me give my students functioning lyres! We use lyres for our parades to hold our music in place while marching. The bins will be used to give our lyres a proper home in dedicated instrument bins.

My Project

Our honors band students participate in several marching focused events throughout the year. This includes the city-wide band day at high school where all the middle schools combine with the marching band to play at the football game and halftime show. We also perform in several parades including our holiday parade.

The music lyres at our school have gone through years of use and the wear and tear is beginning to impact are musicians.

Students' lyres were falling apart during our most recent parade. We have tried to repair some of the lyres, however, a large portion must be thrown out at this point.

The band has many dedicated students who absolutely love participating in these out of school events. It would mean so much to the program if we could ensure that the kids are able to focus on the music rather than trying to hold their music up.
