Flip Cameras for Once in a Lifetime trip to Costa Rica!
My students need two flip cameras to take to Costa Rica this spring! They can capture the beautiful landscapes and record the diverse wildlife as we study ecosystems!
Have you had the experience to travel outside of your state or country? Some of my students have not had that opportunity. We are studying the diverse ecosystems of Costa Rica and will be traveling there in the spring to do some volunteer work at a wildlife center and study the language and culture.
Our students are excellent.
They are hardworkers and are really invested in their educational experience. Students are from a wide range of backgrounds as this is an urban school in Illinois. Some students have never traveled anywhere before, while others have had more opportunity. About 1/3 of our student population is low income. Students are taking seven academic classes a semester.
My Project
These flip cameras will have an invaluable impact on our students. By donating these resources, it gives our students the ability to take pictures and record video of the amazing experiences we have in Costa Rica. They can record behavior of endangered species, record Costa Rican dancing and cooking demonstrations, and much more. Having these experiences documented will give students the opportunity to revisit these life changing encounters and share them with friends and family, even after the trip has ended.
Donations to this project will help enrich students' experience during our trip to Costa Rica in the spring.
Some students in this program have never traveled before, and some can not even come up with the money for a passport.. yet alone a camera. By providing these two flip cameras to our cause, we can capture priceless moments and experiences in these students' lives as they learn about the environment and culture in another country.
