Flexing While We Work

My Students

I teach fourth-grade science and social studies. Fourth grade can be challenging, but rewarding.

My students are creative, intelligent, inquisitive, and determined.

My students are amazing! They love learning new things. They ask questions about new topics. My students enjoy school.

My class is a family. They stick up for one another and celebrate each other's successes. They are problem solvers. My students help one another.

I work at a Title I school. All the students at my school receive free lunch.

My Project

This year I began using flexible seating in my classroom. The students have had a very positive response to the different seating options that are already available to them. Over the past few weeks, I have observed seating choices that appear to be more popular and others that the students don't care for as much. I would really love to add more flexible seating options that are comfortable for my students. I currently have a few rolling chairs and floor seats in my room. I would love to add a few more of each of these. The students really love these options and I would like for more of my students to enjoy these options.
