My Project

My classroom has many comforts that helps my diverse learners focus. We have disabilities in every one of my classes and we need to celebrate everyone's differences. I have wobble stools for kids to take and borrow, but they have no backs to them. My stand up desks are good for some kids, but not all. Everyone is different and equity means getting kids what they need to be successful. This is why I want this additional seating option in my room. Diverse abilities, cultures, backgrounds, and gender identities make up my classes and I want my classroom to be a safe and welcoming environment for all kids. I help my students understand that not everyone has the same needs and diversity and inclusion are important.

These contoured chairs will be a good addition to some of my desks so kids can lean back and stretch quietly and get the movement they really need.

The addition of the desk and chair will optimize my skills of pulling students into a small group setting in my classroom. At this time, I'm having to pull them to my current desk which has 2 monitors and my daily work located on it.

I have kids who have ADHD, anxiety, and just extra energy. The silent stretch and ability to bounce helps my neurodiverse learners in all of my classrooms. These can help them focus and be a more active participant in the classroom on a daily basis. I want my kids to be comfortable, so they can spend their time learning. All of the focus on their education is a good thing! The addition of these chairs and option for an additional teacher setting will assist my students for the flexibility to focus on their learning.
