This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Joyful, excited, loving. I look forward to seeing their bright, smiling faces each morning and am ecstatic when I see them beam with pride each time they meet a personal goal.

One student entered our class reading 4 words a minute.

On her last reading test, she read 76 words! Another little boy, nicknamed "Super Reader", ended the year reading 82 words per minute after achieving his personal goal of 75 words per minute! Rockstars readers are right here in our class!

My Project

Fluency is a HUGE part of first grade. Students are learning to read and getting to practice using a WhisperPhone Select will help them read at their own pace, while the teacher listens to each student. The students also loved the fun design of this product when I showed them the online photo!

My students are expected to read 63 words by the end of the school year.

Reading with accuracy, pace, and expression helps achieve this goal!

The book bins and the pocket chart will help each leveled group know where their books are for quick transitions between reading groups.
