My fourth graders learn more than just the curriculum in our classroom. We learn how to deal with our emotions, problems and individual needs together.
We are a family!
We work together to make each member of this family better and strive to be successful. I truly love my job and my students. My students come from many different cultural backgrounds and love learning about one another. A majority of my students live in low income households.
When they come to school, my mission is to provide students with an environment that will allow them to become successful inside and outside of the classroom despite where they come from. Coming from the 4th largest city in the United States, Houston, diversity in the classroom is a common trait. No matter where we come from or what we believe in, we have one main mission to achieve greatness through learning!
We live in a world that is constantly changing and that includes educational tools. One of the tools that can be used for student success is the use of items that support Action Based Learning (ABL). The sitting desks allow students to sit more comfortably around the room and work. When a child is moving, their mind is growing. Choice is such a huge motivator in the classroom this allows them to know they are in charge of their learning. My main mission is to help students stay focused and excited about learning. Nobody wants to sit in a chair for 8 hours a day. Incorporating flexible seating into my classroom will enhance the brainpower of my furious fourth graders.
