Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located on the southwest side of Oklahoma City. My students come from a primarily Hispanic neighborhood. As a staff, we have been working to teach our students by giving them valuable experiences. My mission is for every student to have a place to be successful.
My students are full of enthusiasm, creativity and curiosity.
They have a thirst for knowledge and how the world works. My students learn best when they connect, collaborate and create with others.
My Project
Have you ever had to sit in an uncomfortable chair for 8 hours? Children are full of wiggles and need a way to release their energy. If students don't have a way to get their wiggles out they find other ways that often lead to distractions that are interpreted as misbehavior.
The solution to the problem is flexible seating and giving students a choice to what makes them comfortable in the classroom including using air stability wobble cushions, balance balls, stools, and bouncy bands.
Students learn in a variety of ways and there for leads me to believe that they find comfort in different ways. These seats will help them focus and pave the path for success.
