My students need seating options that appeal to all types of learning styles. We have desks, but they like the ability to squirm and move, so they can do their best work! I am requesting Wobble chairs and floor seats.
My students walk into my classroom every day with an excitement and zest for learning. They are loud! They are talkative! They are collaborative! They are innovative! They are energetic! They are INSPIRING! They want to learn! I teach in a small rural school district in Illinois where students are thrilled to come to school every day. They like to move around and learn in new ways. They want to change the world and I want to help them! They are the future of, not only my community but yours too! I want to help them reach their potentials every single day.
My Project
All students learn differently. As a teacher, I am expected to meet all of their academic needs in my classroom every day. I differentiate my instruction to fill in holes and enrich further. Allowing my students to have flexible seating options, allows them to learn in a way that is best for their brains. We do not all want to sit still for 6 hours to learn. These options allow for me to differentiate between different kinds of learners and allow all kids the tools they need to be successful. These options can help them to be more focused and engaged in all aspects of their day.
I am requesting the wobble stools to use in my small group lessons.
The kids will be able to wobble in a safe way instead of trying to lean back in a standard classroom chair. They can sit on the stool safely and still be able to learn and focus on the lesson. The floor seats will also serve a great purpose as I have a tiled classroom floor that is very cold. Many kids like to lay on the floor or work on the floor during independent time. These seats will allow them a more comfortable seat to keep their minds fresh and focused.
