Our school is composed of over 70 second graders who come from all walks of life, all who receive a free breakfast and some who receive a free or reduced lunch daily.
As a whole, we serve grades Pre-K through 5th, including the Exceptional Children's program for the district. We provide a safe yet rigorous learning environment for our students that will help them to become lifelong learners. We make sure they go home with full hearts, minds and bellies each day.
My Project
We (teachers) are ALWAYS looking for ways to engage our students as well as give them choices about the environment they are learning in. With the different flexible seating options, whether a reclining chair, comfy rug, cushioned chair or yoga ball, students will not only have a choice where they work but HOW they work. They may concentrate better when bouncing, standing or even rocking. The options are endless as students began to take ownership of their own learning!
I don't know about you, but I do my best work when I am comfortable!
Flexible seating is a choice that allows students to stay focused and comfy while working. It allows them flexibility to be their best and do their best at all times. As a teacher, I feel it is my job to provide various options for the different personalities of my students. I can only make this happen with your generosity.
