My Students
I am returning to teaching after spending 14 years home raising my four children. I have been helping out at school as a volunteer and a teaching assistant. In the fall I am excited to say that I will be teaching first grade. My students are energetic and curious. Reading books, writing stories and poetry study will be a core part to their day.
Movement, choice and learning go hand in hand and I will create and environment which stress all three.
My Project
I am creating a classroom where movement and education go hand and hand. I want each student to be active participants in their learning every day. I feel the wobble chairs and soft seats will met the varying needs of students who enter my room. The lap desks also allow for freedom in choosing work spaces any where in the room
Flexible seating and flexible mindset will create a flexible learner.
I am so excited to be entering a new classroom and believe that by giving my students the proper tools I can also boost their ability to be productive members of my classroom community.
