Our 5th graders are self aware and attentive when it comes to their needs in the classroom. In math class, they actively engage with standing whiteboards to display their thinking and solve problems, allowing for hands-on learning. However, with so many desks in our already small classroom, it's challenging to create the space we need for collaboration and movement. In an already tiny classroom, our goal is to maximize space and make it as comfortable as possible for learning. By minimizing the desks, we can maximize space by using a carpet and alternative seating.
