This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By funding this project, you will give my students the opportunity to sit in the type of chair and position in which they feel most comfortable and able to learn. My class would love the opportunity to choose their own seat in the classroom. These stools and bands work like fidget toys and allow students the movement and comfort that they need to learn. I like to provide a safe and welcoming environment to each of my students. By allowing them options to sit, I am meeting their individual needs.
These items will increase student engagement and an opportunity to learn responsibility.
I will have a check out system for my flex seating and remind my class of the responsibility that comes from checking out an item. Students will also be able to focus better on curriculum when they are sitting in a place that feels right to them. The bands will also help meet the sensory needs of my students.
