My Project

Our Elementary School houses a Comprehensive Services Site (CSS) within Fairfax County Public Schools that serves children with high emotional and behavioral health care needs who require a more restrictive educational setting than a general education classroom. Our CSS was awarded a grant from the Trauma Informed Care Network to improve our classroom spaces. As part of our proposal, we included chairs that allow students to move while sitting at their desk with Ergonomic Bounce Chairs. Students frequently require movement breaks which often occur outside of the classroom. By providing a bounce chair for students to have at their desk, they will be able to sustain staying in the classroom for longer periods, increasing their access to academic content. Because our census increased, we do not have enough chairs for all our students. We are requesting to purchase six additional chairs.
