Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach Special Education for students with Autism in a self-contained setting. I teach several subjects throughout the day to a variety of academic and behavioral needs. Flexible seating allows for a variety of options for my students. Giving the choice of a variety of seating options, allows for students to gain control over their learning environment and increase engagement.
When offering options to my students and allowing them to choose, I have observed an increase of engagement and enthusiasm towards learning.
The wobble chairs will give an opportunity for students to focus at different centers while still allowing some movement.
