Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Please help give my students the opportunity to have more choices where they can learn!
My students are enthusiastic, kind, and loving.
They strive for excellence each day. I have a mix of general education, bilingual and special education students. Children in my classroom absolutely love learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best can vary greatly. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternative seating and learning options to ensure that my students' needs are being met. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are so excited and ready to learn every day!
My Project
Students need opportunities to own their learning. Being able to select where they best learn such as with a desk, table, or floor will enable them to enhance their learning abilities. Having these materials will change the learning environment in our classroom. Students will be able to move more freely throughout the day and grasp a better understanding of their learning styles.
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them.
During independent work times, they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently, my students are choosing to work with limited options for different tables; we currently work at desks or on the rug with clipboards. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given choice where they learn best.
