My Students

They are growing and learning in the same small, tight knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers. They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful career.

My students love reading, and I want to help spark their interests so they can grow into forever learners.

My Project

Flexible seating is proven to help motivate students to grow academically. Through flexible seating, it provides choice, a change in scenery, and increases motor skills.

In the last year, I have tried to accumulate items that would make my classroom successful for flexible seating; however, I do not have enough for all of my 21 students.

The flexible seating I have already introduced is a big hit, and students strive not only academically, but also behaviorally to get to sit in a "special chair or seating arrangement."

I teach 6th grade, and this will be the last year students are in an elementary building. a flexible seating plan will also make their last year as an elementary student memorable.
