My Students

My students are empathetic and caring. They come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds and thrive in an inclusive community where inclusion and respect for human differences are fostered. At the beginning of each school day, my students publicly make a declaration to themselves and others to "stand tall as a mighty force for good in their neighborhoods and school community."

My students are curious and eager to learn about world events such as hunger, homelessness, equality, and voting rights for minorities.

They felt empathy for the people who suffered a natural disaster in Puerto Rico and had a school-wide penny drive and raised funds for Puerto Rico. They are always striving to read books and learn; and have the heart to share what they've learned from media and books, with others.

Learning is exciting for them but we need more leveled high-interest books to engage them. My students are awesome and exceptional, and I am eager to give opportunities for them to grow.

My Project

The laptop seats that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, my students will be able to have full autonomy in where they sit in the classroom. This will increase student engagement and social-emotional wellbeing in the classroom. These laptop seats are going to be used during Writer's Workshop, reading and math. I'm really excited to use them in centers and stations. We just need your help in getting them through our door! I'm looking forward to the independence and freedom of choice my students will have in where they learn. Thank you for your generosity.
