My Students
My first grade classroom is a very special place for me and my children. In our classroom, we focus on building a community, a team, a family and creating lifelong memories while we learn and explore the world around us. We love to learn through hands-on activities, group work, and fun activities.
My terrific first graders are hungry to learn and always want more.
We, as a class, are very diverse and have different learning styles. One thing we all have in common is the curiosity to learn more, the ability to have FUN and the need to move! They deserve the world, and I want to support them in every way I possibly can.
My Project
My students need more options for their flexible seating in the classroom. This will allow movement, improve attention, increase on-task behaviors and thus, inspire and motivate young minds to grow! Research shows that giving students more choice in their lives, motivates them and makes them more driven in their everyday life.
Research shows that movement increases attention and time on-task, which will help minimize behavioral concerns and maximize instructional time!
All of these positive results will help build our classroom community and make learning more fun.
The bean bag chairs and wobble seats will allow students to move, get motivated, and strengthen their minds while building confidence and the love needed to always be LIFE-LONG LEARNERS!
